The Giants vs. the Pirates at AT&T Park

August 23, 2013

AT&T park

It was a beautiful Friday night in the city. My friend Chris and a group of her friends had a extra ticket to the game, and, like all late-season call-ups, I was glad for the invitation.

Seems hard to believe that AT&T Park (originally PacBell, and then, briefly, SBC -- one way or the other, named for a phone company) has been part of the South of Market landscape for almost 14 years. To me, it is the new stadium, and a favorite destination in San Francisco.

Chris is the one in the orange "rally hair." Mason and Marvin are in the row in front, and Eric and Beth, vacationing from Washington DC, are on the other side of Chris. baseball friends

We watched a good, mostly well-played game which ended, as unfortunately most Giants' games have this year, in a San Francisco loss. Final score was 3 - 1. You can read the recap on the MLB site (will open in a separate browser window).
