The Alabama Hills and the Ride Home

I got up early on Sunday morning, September 8, and took this picture of Mount Whitney from behind our motel. Whitney, the tallest point in the contiguous United States at 14,505 feet (give or take a few feet, as we learned at the local diner), is the lighter colored peak in the center of the photo.
