This Northern Red Oak stands prominently in the front yard of our Los Altos home where we planted it about 25 years ago. It is still a young tree but it has started to display some of what we hope will become its grandeur.
The year 2020 was exceptionally difficult - a global pandemic, wildfires here in California, and a traumatic national election. Throughout the year I photographed this tree, recording the steady progress of nature and capturing some of the beauty outside the front door - which is where the two pictures above were taken. The six pictures below were all taken looking back at the tree from across the street.
