For as long as we'd owned that house, I had wanted to replace our kitchen. Finally, in the fall of 2015, we started to think seriously about a new kitchen. Demolition of the old kitchen began on January 19, 2016, and on May 18, the new kitchen received its final approval from the city of Los Altos. Each set of photos below compares a view of our kitchen taken in 2015 with the same view at the end of April 2016. A collection of photos follows the progress of the transformation. |

Epilog
After the kitchen was finished,
I painted the wall
facing the window and table
where I had coffee almost every morning.
It was a good space for a collection of family pictures.
