The Stanford Band, along with a crowd of around 30,000, welcomed the team to the field.

Stanford's quarterback, Kevin Hogan (8), along with Lee Ward (36) and Jeff Trojan (18), participated in the coin toss. Stanford won the toss and elected to kick.

Jordan Williamson started the season with a 63-yard kick, below, to the Davis 2 yard line.

The two pictures below show how this game went. On the left, the Davis ball carrier is being pushed back for a loss inside his own 5 yard line. Later in the game, from that same point on the field, the Stanford quarterback rushed for a touchdown. The answer to that question "How are we doing?" - just fine, for anyone wearing Cardinal red!

Below, the game's leading ground-gainer, Ty Montgomery, gets a first down. He collected 159 yards on the afternoon.

The Stanford Band and Tree had some fun at halftime.

The coach kept the team focused late in the game, but the scoreboard pretty much told the story.
