That's my friend Carol and her Morgan stallion Rebellion. Carol and her husband Bill moved to Colorado years ago, built their home and established a horse ranch outside of Denver - they called their ranch Aspenglow. I visited them in the fall of 2019 to get caught up with friends I hadn't seen in many years and to take some pictures.
Below is a portion of their ranch - their house is behind the trees at the end of the road going up the hill.
Here are two
more pictures
of Carol and
Rebellion.
On Saturday, Carol and I visited Four Mile Historic Park, a 12-acre site where we saw the oldest house in Denver. Four Mile House was built in 1859 to offer services to the pioneers headed west. Carol is walking toward the house in the picture below on the left.
Today the park is a tranquil spot where we wandered through the cultural and natural history of the American West.

Then on Sunday, Carol and I drove up into the Rocky Mountains on Interstate 70 going west out of Denver. We climbed to the Eisenhower Tunnel which passes under the Continental Divide at an altitude of 11,158 feet.
After leaving the tunnel, we pulled off the highway at an exit with a pond on one side and a creek on the other. The aspens were showing off their beautiful fall wardrobe and I had a great place to take some pictures.
I had a wonderful time.
Many thanks to Carol and Bill
for their generous hospitality.
Best wishes!
