My friend Elizabeth has
moved to Davis, a small city near Sacramento, California. I went for a visit and we spent an afternoon walking through the Arboretum on the campus of the University of California at Davis. The Arboretum occupies 100 acres planted along the banks of a quiet stream. Its collections include 22,000 trees and plants, arranged in a series of gardens representing geographic areas and plant groups (see Arboretum web site, opens in a separate window or tab).
