We took a lot of pictures on this trip, and I had a hard time picking one to put at the top of the page. I picked this view of the village of Waldlaubersheim, taken from a hillside vineyard on a cold December day. This is where we celebrated Christmas with Andy, Carmen and her family. I can't say which rooftop is theirs, but the picture gives you a feel for this place. It is small, peaceful and lovely. The holiday spirit in the village was warm, while everything outside was covered in a blanket of frost.
But before we arrived in Germany, Mike and I met Andy and Carmen in Paris, where we spent a few days sightseeing. Weather there was also cold (we don't think it got above freezing at ANY point on this trip), but the Paris skies were clear and blue, as you will see below
