Epilog

At home

Andy and Carmen were both tired after the events of their "Wedding Week." But they had one more job to do, cleaning up their apartment after friends had visited the day before to "decorate."

Outside in the courtyard, there was more conversation and laughter as we looked back on a very good time.
That's Elli with Erika.

Mike and I left on Monday to take the train to Berlin. We spent four days there, exploring the city and following the Euro 2012 championships. Outside the Brandenberg Gate, almost half a million German fans watched the semifinal game, televised from Warsaw. Alas, it did not end well, as the German team lost to Italy.

While Mike and I were in Berlin, Andy and Carmen had spent the week relaxing at a spa in the Black Forest. They met us in Frankfurt on our last day before we flew home.

It was wonderful seeing them again, sharing a meal before we all went back to our homes and our jobs.

We said goodbye to Andy and Carmen in Frankfurt, knowing that we would keep the memories of their beautiful week forever.

And then, months later back at home, . . .

Thank you card

. . . their "thank you" card arrived in the mail.
It was indeed ein freudenreicher Tag, and a lovely reminder of a beautiful week!
