This is the entrance to the Burckhardt Winery, owned and operated by Carmen's parents. The sign says "Home of the Nahe Wine Princess, Carmen." The family home is behind the sign, and the winery building, with a charming tasting room, faces it on the right, just outside this picture. Aren't the frost-covered branches pretty?
